Former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Masahiko Yamada & Dr. Hideto Tomabechi’s Anti-TPP Campaign

[Announcement] Announcement Masahiko Yamada, Former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Declares Candidacy for the House of Councillors Election and Dr. Hideto Tomabechi Announces New Book on Anti-TPP

Dear Members of the Press,
We hope this message finds you well.

We are pleased to announce that former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Masahiko Yamada, will be running as a candidate in the upcoming House of Councillors election from the “Green Wind” party, representing the national proportional representation district.

As you may know, Mr. Yamada has been a leading figure in the opposition against the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership), working tirelessly to communicate the hidden dangers of the TPP to the public in an easy-to-understand manner. In the upcoming election, he will be focusing on key issues such as “Stopping the TPP,” “Decommissioning Nuclear Power Plants,” “Freezing the Consumption Tax Increase,” and “Enhancing Social Security to Support the Elderly,” aiming to protect Japan’s food and livelihoods.

In line with his candidacy announcement, we will hold a press conference where Mr. Yamada will share his determination and vision for the election.

Furthermore, Dr. Hideto Tomabechi, a cognitive scientist who collaborates with Mr. Yamada in opposing the TPP, will be launching his new booklet, “TPP Destroys Democracy! The Terrifying Scenario of Global Domination by Giant Corporations.” Dr. Tomabechi will provide a logical explanation of how the TPP could harm citizens based on Mr. Yamada’s arguments. This press conference will also cover why the TPP poses significant disadvantages to the public, which has not been sufficiently reported by the media.

We sincerely invite you to attend and report on this important event.
